Marilyn Stark

State Representative

When some people see a problem, they complain. When Marilyn Stark sees a problem, she works to fix it. She knows how to unite people and pursue common goals that benefit our community and state. Marilyn tirelessly works to represent all of the citizens of House District 100.

Marilyn Stark is a conservative Christian serving her second term as State Representative in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

Marilyn has lived in Oklahoma most of her life. A registered nurse with over 15 years working primarily in Intensive Care, she also worked in the faith-based/ nonprofit world for 20 years. As the Executive Director of Love Link Ministries, Marilyn worked on zoning, remodeling, and EPA/DEQ issues that directly aided those in need. Marilyn also worked with Tenaciously Teal, a nonprofit organization that offers support to cancer patients, as well as Villages, OKC, a nonprofit focused on healthy aging and staying in your home as long as possible.

Marilyn is pro-life and values people at all stages in their lives. She is an articulate voice for the protections of our God-given personal liberty and individual freedom.

Representative Stark serves as Vice-Chair of the Health Services and Long-term Care Committee. She also serves on the Public Health and General Government committees and the Human Services Appropriations and Budget Committee.

Transparency and accountability in state budgets, communication between the legislature and the public, and finding solutions to prison reform, mental health, alcohol and substance abuse issues, affordable healthcare, and funding education are a few of the things that top Marilyn’s list of concerns that require attention. Meeting needs while not growing the size of government is the goal.

A problem-solver by nature, Marilyn focuses on bringing positive, constructive leadership to her work in the Oklahoma House. Working together, she believes Oklahomans can move our state forward to meet our challenges.

Two significant bills authored by Rep. Stark and passed were the Sarah Stitt Act which aids people being released from prison in acquiring the correct documentation to transition into productive members of society; and HB1882, which created the Out of Schooltime Task Force. This bill aimed at creating a task force to help evaluate and develop programs to help all Oklahoma children when they are not in school.

Born in Iowa, Marilyn’s family moved to Yukon, Oklahoma where she spent her early years, and later moved to Muskogee, where she graduated from high school. Marilyn earned a BS in Chemistry and Biology from Southern Nazarene University and received her BSN in nursing from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing.

Marilyn lives in Bethany and is a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She has served in various church positions, including teaching Sunday School, volunteer youth leader, District NYI secretary, and choir member. In addition, she has served as a Registered Song Evangelist for the past 22 years.
